Congratulations to my mama and Henry on their marriage this past Saturday. More pictures will come as they are edited, but thought yall would enjoy a little “sneak preview.”
We made sure to get some pictures of ourselves as well.
Welcome to my world!
Love you babe
(oh brother… I know this title is going to create some drama… but it’s the most appropriate)
Mike and I were at Bible study this weekend at a friends house. Our friends are full term and will be having a baby any day. Mike went up to see the nursery and came down with the biggest grin on his face!!
He said, “I’ve got the perfect idea.”
Not unused to this brilliant man coming up with brilliant ideas, I said, “And what’s that?”
He said, “We’re going to turn the bunk bed room [the distant future nursery] into a boat room.”
Come to find out, he realized just how much stock piling and preparing you and your friends and family do with your first child and he thought that since we were planning and preparing and saving for a boat, that we need to do the same thing – stock pile and prepare for boatownership, register for goodies and get excited with our friends looking at pictures of the future baby boat that will soon grace our backyard.
So babe, this ones for you…. since
we’re having a boat…
hopefully sometime in the not toooooo distant future…here’s my input on the planning and preparing and stockpiling that should take place in our new boat room. Just a few room ideas I like:
And I even created a registry for the essentials =)
you can check out our registry here
Another weekend, another race. We beasted the “Smokin’ the Water” Sprint Triathlon this past weekend. I, for one, came into it with something to prove. And I was very pleased with the results. Mike did fantastic and placed 14th overall!! We both placed 2nd on our age groups!
The Race was as follows: Swim: 600 yards open water; Bike: 17 miles; Run: 4 miles.
Mike did awesome! Here are just a few of his awesome stats:
Swim: 6:47 – he was the first person out of the water!!
T2: 0:33 (now that’s moving!)
Run: 30:34 – putting him at 7:30 min mile!!
Total time: 1:29:20
My race went really well. I cut my big toe on the bottom just before leaving for the swim start but it didn’t bother me once the race got under way, just made for a bloody mess in my sock for later. My swim went decent. The bike was killer! The course was out and back with some good climbs and not really any flat road. The way back I kept my friend Jamie in my sights and that really pushed me to a negative split on the course – I averaged 18mph, one of my fastest times in a race! The run felt great. It took the usual 1.5 miles to get my legs feeling normal, but I was good to go after that.
This racing season has been full of amazing friends! Just look at um! Aren’t they precious?!?
Next race… June 24th.
We have received wonderful support for our trip to Poland. Thank you for praying for us and, if you were able, to support us financially. We are half way funded for our trip!!
If you missed the first post, we’re heading to Poland on a missions trip at the end of July. You can read more about it here.
This is a picture of the Tatra Mountains where we will do a lot of hiking.
